Durham City Archers is a friendly target archery club based just outside of Durham City in England, affiliated to Archery GB and part of Durham & Northumberland Archery Association.

We strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere and will do everything we can to help those looking to start their adventure into the world of archery.

DCA is a highly successful club who regularly field a mix of casual leisure shooters as well as competitive archers of all disciplines and ages, with many of our archers having shot for DNAA's county team.

Take a look around, read more about archery or book on a beginner course, and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

As a target archery club, we focus on Olympic style archery, typically shooting at straw or foam targets ranging from 20-25 yards indoors and anywhere from 30-100 yards outdoors.
Over the years our club has maintained a balance between casual shooters and competitive archers, creating a warm atmosphere and a well knit community, with our members socialising both inside and outside of club shooting hours. We are also one of the only clubs in the country to have our own dedicated outdoor café space.

'Carole's Café' has been recognised by archers across the country, and is space for members to enjoy during the outdoor season, to relax and unwind, while having a cub of tea and a biscuit (or three).

Our competitive archers have brought home a healthy amount of trophies and have fielded a range of members winning not only county but national competitions as well - from judged competitions to leagues and challenges.
Helping those is our AGB approved coaches, who volunteer to teach on beginner courses, as well as provide 1-1 coaching to any who ask. With some of our coaches working at county level providing assistance to archers across the county on organised coaching days - with connections to other county coaches, our coaches are able to help you get as far as you want in the sport.

About Us

Both our indoor and outdoor venue's are located at Framwellgate School Durham.

Our indoor venue is a newly built state of the art hall, with superb lighting, perfect to see exactly where your arrows land.

While our outdoor venue is on the adjacent field and is amazing for all target distances be it 30 yards or 60 yards, or maybe you want to try out Olympic distance at 70 meters.

We have an extremely good working relationship with the school, and so the hall is always available, and the grass kept short at all times, making it easier to find those pesky arrows that seem to have an aversion to hitting the target.

Entrance is via Old Pit Lane
